How Leasing Works Briefly, you pay Cumbria Leasing the agreed monthly instalments over the term of the lease, usually 37 months. (1 month up front and 36 monthly payments). VAT is applicable to the rentals. After the final payment to Cumbria Leasing has been made KBS arrange for the title of the goods to be passed to the hirer.

Working example (Typical 37 month lease) Below is a typical example of lease costs, tax relief and net cost per month. For this example we have used a furniture costs of £1,000 and at the current rate of £37.75 per £1,000 per month. Cost of Furniture £ 1,000.00 plus VAT One rental in advance - equal to 1 months rentals £ 37.75 plus VAT Followed by 36 monthly rentals of £37.75 £ 1,539.00 plus VAT Total rentals £ 1,576.75 plus VAT The rentals are 100% allowable for tax purposes. Assuming a tax rate of 20% the tax allowance equals £ 315.35 The net cost after tax is therefore £ 1,261.40 This is equivalent to £34.09 per month KBS Contracts are licensed credit brokers

(Typical 37 month lease)

The rentals are 100% allowable for tax purposes.

Assuming a tax rate of 20% the tax allowance equals £ 315.35

The net cost after tax is therefore £ 1,261.40

At current rates you could refurbish say 10 bedrooms (spending £500 per room) for a monthly cost of £ 176.25 per month (plus VAT). In other words for under £18 per month per room. You may even be able to increase room rates to fund the refurbishment.
